The historical core of Palm Beach County’s economy, agribusiness uses 36 percent of the landmass, with 456,000 acres devoted to agriculture and ranching.  The output of $1.38 billion in agricultural sales for 2014-15 leads all counties east of the Mississippi River, and is one of the ten largest agricultural county outputs in the United States.

The county is a national leader in the production of sugarcane, fresh sweet corn, and sweet bell peppers, and lead the state in production of lettuce, rice, radishes, Chinese vegetables, specialty leaf vegetables and celery. Additionally, annual revenue within the county from the landscape and landscape maintenance business tops the state at $450 million.
