Bethesda Health, Inc., comprised of not-for-profit hospitals Bethesda Hospital East and Bethesda Hospital West, has been the area’s trusted healthcare provider in Palm Beach County since 1959. Bethesda Hospital East

Offering a full array of healthcare services, Bethesda Hospital East is the most comprehensive hospital in Palm Beach County with the Bethesda Heart Hospital for cardiovascular services, the Cornell Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine, a 36-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility for orthopaedic and neurologic injuries, the Bethesda Stroke Center, the Center for Women and Children, and the Bethesda Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Included among Bethesda’s services are: general, vascular and endovascular surgery, medical, surgical and intensive care, maternity, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit, pediatric intensive care, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, women’s health; an outpatient pharmacy and four outpatient rehabilitation facilities.

Among recent advancements Bethesda is one of a 3-hospital consortium in Palm Beach County with the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. Now in its third year, Bethesda’s Center for Medical Education currently provides residency programs in Internal Medicine and General Surgery.


Bethesda Hospital West

Bethesda’s newest facility, Bethesda Hospital West, is an 80-bed, not-for-profit community hospital on the northeast corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and US-441 that opened in January 2013.

Bethesda Hospital West is an all-private room, state-of-the-art hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical services, with the most advanced technology to enhance patient care. The campus saw the opening of it first medical office building in September 2013, offering physicians convenient access to their patients at Bethesda Hospital West.

Bethesda Hospital West offers the following services: A 24-hour Emergency Department for adults and children; three operating room suites; an endovascular hybrid suite that can also be used for cardiac catheterizations; two endoscopy suites; general medical, telemetry and surgical services; infusion therapy; laboratory and inpatient pharmacy services; respiratory therapy; physical rehabilitation and a full range of imaging services including:  MRI, CT, general radiography, ultrasound and cardiac stress testing.

Bethesda Hospital West is known as the “Jewel of the West” because of all the special amenities that are available, such as open visitation hours that permit children and adult visitors; decentralized nursing which places the patient’s nurse just outside their room; and room service-style menus, allowing patients to have their meals delivered when it’s convenient for them. In addition, Bethesda Hospital West has an electronic medical records system that allows physicians to follow their patients’ progress via their smart phones or office computers.


 

Both Bethesda Hospital East and Bethesda Hospital West have been designated as Advanced Primary Stroke Centers, Accredited Chest Pain Centers and are Accredited Heart Failure programs. Bethesda is accredited by the Joint Commission and has achieved the Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
