From Maine to Miami, Boynton Beach is the closest point to the Atlantic Gulf Stream, earning the title “Gateway to the Gulf Stream.” With the ocean at your fingertips, it is easy to live a relaxing South Florida lifestyle in Boynton Beach. The coastal community located between Delray Beach and Lake Worth Beach, runs parallel to a four-mile stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway with access to the ocean through the Boynton Inlet. Boynton Beach takes pride in its history. There are interpretative plaques at 30 of the city’s historic sites and a City Heritage Trail app with an interactive map to explore 175 historic landmarks. In addition, the city’s municipal library houses an extensive history of Boynton Beach for public viewing and research.
The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum offers exhibits and weekly classes for young children in a 1913 school building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center is also housed in an original high school, featuring exhibition spaces, dance and visual art studios, a community playground, and Kapok Courtyard. The center houses a stunning second-floor Event Hall for performances with a stage beneath a towering 39-foot-high domed ceiling. Art and culture are vital aspects of life in Boynton Beach, which features more than 80 displays of public artwork within the city’s 16 square miles.
Throughout the year, Boynton Beach offers a robust calendar of more than 60 events designed for all ages. Signature events include: Pirate Fest, Black Business Pop-Up Shop, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and July Fourth celebrations, a Christmas holiday parade and tree lighting, and the monthly First Friday @ 5 concert series. The annual International Kinetic Art Experience is a two-day event showcasing kinetic art and artists.
